Carneil Griffin
Assistant Director for Program Building
Carneil is a graduate of Steinmetz Academic Center where he was an outstanding debater in the CDL, and had some success in the regional circuit.  He is an undergraduate at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Carneil has worked on several national and state-wide political campaigns, and has been asked by NPR and several other organizations to represent "youth voice".  Most recently Carneil has been asked by producers of the Oprah Winfrey Show to audition for a possible guest role in a show on youth in politics.  Carneil is passionately dedicated to urban debate and is both engaging with students and knowledgeable and helpful with less-experienced coaches.

Greg Cheyne
Assistant Director for Middle Schools
The Middle School Conference in the Chicago Debate League has seven schools this year and has its first Tournament on November 17th, at Louise May Alcott School in Lincoln Park.  Greg is a graduate of the University of Chicago where he debated very successfully in intercollegiate parliamentary debate.  Greg is a former Idaho State Varsity Debate Champion in high school.  Greg is also the founding director of the University of Chicago's Urban Debate Coordinating Committee and the founding director of the South Shore Middle School Debate League, a program sponsored by the University of Chicago over the past four years.  Greg is currently a student at the University of Chicago Law School.

Scott Dodsworth
Assistant Director for Lincoln Douglas (LD) Debate
LD is a one-person debate format that centers on "values" rather than public policy.  Scott is continuing as the Director of Debate at Thomas Kelly High School, one of the most successful urban debate schools in the nation.  Scott has directed the program at Kelly for eight years, where he has been featured in stories by NPR and the Chicago Tribune, and has coached the Top Varsity Speaker at the 2007 Chicago Debate Championship, numerous other award winning teams over the years.  Scott hosts the Bustamante Debate Classic in December, one of the Chicago area's largest and most competitive regional debate tournaments.

Steve Stein
Assistant Director for Training and Instruction
Steve is a former National Circuit star debater for Glenbrook North H.S. and Emory University, where he graduated.  Steve has an M.A. in Education from Harvard University.  He has been a high school teacher for the past seven years and teaches at Evanston H.S. (Go Wildkits!).  Steve has worked with the Atlanta UDL and the Milwaukee UDL, where he proved himself very effective as a trainer and teacher of UDL coaches and students.  He ran the Tab Room at Harlan last weekend.
